ZINC – OK FOR COLDS BUT NOT FOR THE FLU

OK FOR COLDS BUT NOT
FOR THE FLU

Suzy Cohen, the 24 hour pharmacist advises that taking ZINC at the onset of illness symptoms may NOT be the right thing to do, at least not initially until you are sure of what’s going on. If it’s a cold, you’re probably okay, but if it’s the flu, zinc will fuel your symptoms. The influenza virus loves zinc so until you are 100% sure what you are dealing with, she says to avoid zinc. Generally speaking colds are wet and above the head, while influenza is a whole-body affair, causing body aches, pains, high fever, chest problems and more of a feeling like you got hit by a truck!  Colds don’t generally make you feel that horrid, and again, they are wet.  But in the early hours you may not be able to tell, so Suzy advises to avoid zinc until you are sure you do not have the flu.

Magnesium-Finding the Right Source and Type for Relieving Constipation

Magnesium Finding the Right Source and Type For Relieving Constipation

PureMagOne magnesium deficiency side affect is constipation, which can leave you feeling bloated and miserable. Increase your intake of magnesium that consists of magnesium malate and glycinate and see if that solves your constipation woes. Many think that magnesium citrate will do the trick but it has been my experience that this is not so especially for those with colon or rectal issues. I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you find the dose of magnesium malate/glycinate that works best for you and start to take it on a daily basis. Besides having a health positive effect on regular bowel movements, it is also excellent for cardiovascular health and fatigue related issues. Click here to check out the PureCell brand.

Magnesium a vital mineral to overall health. Getting the correct facts about the mineral magnesium, can be life changing. Not all magnesium is created equal. You can hear Coach D talk about what it does, how to know you are deficient and what type of magnesium is the best by clicking this link.  Yes, believe it or not, there are more than eight different types of magnesiuim and they are not all created equal as several of our current patient’s discovered while doing a recent detox.

Water, Water, We all Need Water

Drink Plenty of fluids, especially waterI Didn’t Know That (IDKT) …

Making sure you drink plenty of fluids, especially water, was so important. Well, yes I did, but I had to stay it that way in order to stay with my IDKT theme.  🙂

You’ll keep constipation at bay and stop the retention of water in the body. Limiting water consumption is never a good idea. Drink at least 4 quarts of pure water a day. If you have a reverse osmosis water unit in your home, make sure you add a little Himalayan sea salt to the filtered water to put minerals back in.

My Master Cleanse Update Day 2

Posted in Detoxification on 28.10.11

Share

As my promise continues it is now day 2 and I’m writing to update you on my progress.  I woke this morning and mixed another glass of the salt water like I did yesterday and drank it down.  The difference this time, I’m empty.  There is nothing left to come out of me I guess.  I took 3 detox caps that I use for occasional bowel movement issues last night and 3 more this afternoon and nothing happened so far.  I think it is safe to say, I’m running on an empty bowel.  Thank goodness for that.  The reason I say that is, this is what it takes to really get in there and remove that mucos stuff that is coating the walls of my intestines.  And I’m happy to report that is happening too.  I can tell when I wipe!   It’s gooey!  I know I know sounds gross right but if I am going to share this with you, I have to be totally honest with what is happening.

I continue to follow instructions to the letter.  I am drinking about 12, eight ounce glasses of the lemonade mixture a day.  I usually mix up a double batch, drinking 16 ounces at a time.  Eight just doesn’t seem to cut it for me except for my first drink of the morning and my last drink before bed.  I am also usually a bit hungrier in the afternoon than I am in the morning and in the evening so I tend to drink the bulk of the juice during the afternoon hours.

I’m still not really hungry although when I feel hungry, I have the juice and the hunger subsides.  I’m also not craving the chewing thing any longer so that is a nice relief.

I bought a little juicer at the 2nd hand shop – it is a krupps and it was new.  Got it for $6!  That has made it so much easier.  If you are thinking about doing the cleanse, I highly recommend getting an automatic juicer.  They are simple machines.  The one I have is easy to clean and it cuts the prep time down to about 60 seconds.  Clean up is 1, 2, 3 also making the whole process a breeze.

I do want to put this warning out there to individuals that may be considering doing this cleanse.  Anyone that has had an implant or is taking immune-suppressant drugs CANNOT do the Master Cleanse!  This is because it stimulates the immune system and inhibits the effectiveness of the drugs.  That means that it could actually cause the immune system to attack the transplanted organ.  Don’t want that to happen, so I’m sorry for those of you in that situation.  This is not the cleanse for you!

I also wanted to let you know that when I started this, I would start sneezing after I drank the lemonade.  I was having a reaction to the cayenne pepper.  I was only putting a little cayenne in the drink but today I was able to use more and the sneezing seems to be stopping now.  In case you are wondering why cayenne pepper, it is because the cayenne, like the lemons, are good for stirring up toxicity.  Interesting to note too that they talk about having an allergic reaction and that it stems from the body’s simultaneous attempt to cleanse itself and digest food.  This process can create conflict and bring about some discomfort but I know from past detox protocols that this is normal.  I’ve been putting bad stuff in my body for a long time.  It’s being stirred up and evacuated from my body.  I’m willing to deal with a little discomfort now as I know when I’m done, my body will reward me with feeling great.  It is worth a few sneezes and a little body ache here and there.  What I am experiencing is well worth it.

I think what I find most amazing is that I don’t have foot cramp issues.  I have been plagued by them since I was very young.  Even my legs used to ache so bad that my parents rushed me to the hospital once in the middle of a snow storm.  I was crying and in so much pain that they got scared.  I remember that day like it was yesterday.  I think I was 4 or 5 years old.  I have since learned that it is caused by my body because it needs magnesium.  Amazing right.  Well let me tell you what is more amazing.  One of the reasons I’m doing this cleanse is because I was told that candida yeast coats the inside of your intestines with a slimy goo and that slim prevents nutrients from entering my body.  The nutrients I take were literally going in one end and out the other.  I found myself taking mega doses of magnesium and other nutrients in order to get relief.  I haven’t had any magnesium in three days.  In fact I’m not taking any supplements at all.  I haven’t experienced one cramp since I began drinking the lemonade.  That is a big wow.

Tomorrow I will tell you about the lemonade mixture and report more as I go into day 3.  BTW, I’m down 3 pounds!

Bottom’s Up and enjoy your day.  Donna

Is it Vitamin D, Hormone D or Sunshine D?

Posted in Vitamin A, C, D, E on 14.09.11

I keep reading more and more about the importance of Vitamin D and how deficient we are as Americans. I’m seeing staggering statistics like 3 out of 4 Americans are deficient in Vitamin D and I’m chilled to the bone because I know that a D deficiency can lead to diseases and/or can make existing conditions that Americans are faced with today, worse. That’s right, if you are facing challenges with regard to heart disease, cancer, infections of most any type, diabetes, arthritis, fibromyalgia, MS, obesity, psoriasis, osteoporosis, etc, your challenges are increased if you are deficient in D.

Vitamin D deficiency is so bad that it is estimated that it is affecting more than a billion people. What most don’t know is that Vitamin D isn’t really a vitamin. Nope, its classification should be that of a hormone. That’s right. Hormones are produced by specific organs in the body and vitamin D is produced by
