Freedom of the right to know30 Senators voted against this anti-consumer, anti-states’ rights bill – see who they are

When the U.S. Senate voted this week to pass a federal law preempting Vermont’s mandatory GMO labeling law, 30 Senators did the right thing.  Thanks Organic Consumers Association for letting us know and collecting all this information.

Thanks Senators for standing in support of the American public!  We commend you and support you.  Blessings to you all of you!
Coach D, Donna Appel, A Voice For Change and lead health style counselor at New Medicine Foundation

Here is the information as taken from the Organic Consumers Association post dated July 7th, 2016.  Please share this with those you know and love.  We really do need to band together to make a difference and get out from under the corporate takeover so prevalent in politics today.

These 30 Senators voted against this anti-consumer, anti-states’ rights bill that was rammed through the Senate without due democratic process.

Some of these Senators were no doubt under a lot of pressure from industry groups, and from their fellow Senators, including the authors of the bill, Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) and Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), to go over to the DARK side.

But they stood up to their deep-pocketed opponents. They voted with the people.

Please take a minute to see if your Senators on the list of those who stood up for your right to know yesterday, then “tweet” them a thank you. It’s also good to retweet the Senators’ own tweets about yesterday’s vote.

Beware of Wolves In Sheep’s Clothes

IDKT (I didn’t know that) … there was a trade group that was made up of food and seed companies the likes of DuPont, Monsanto, Syngenta, BASF, Bayer Crop Science and Dow Agro Science. I didn’t know that they formed the Council for Biotechnology Information and call themselves a trade group that goes out and lobbies against people and states that want to pass laws that support the labeling of all GMO’d foods. Shame on our government and the very people that we elect into office for allowing this to happen. I know that America is the land of the free and home of the brave but really is it in our best interest to support these trade groups and/or allow them to dictate what we can and cannot know about the food we eat??? Just how free are we if this is taking place??? Apparently, New York had proposed a GMO labeling bill and it was not passed due to intense lobbying from this council. This is like the fox guarding the hen house. Truly we must stay informed and in the know and beware of wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing.

The key to wellness is through education. Knowledge truly is power. Stay tuned for more in the upcoming weeks as I turn up the heat through the summer and give you lots to learn, digest and ponder.

Coach D signing off for now. Enjoy your day living in great health and wellness.

Even French University is in on the Anti-GMO Debate

rat…according to Take Part, “the most recent study to suggest there are serious health risks associated with eating transgene corn, conducted at the University of Caen in France, would, despite its critics, appear to support the anti-GMO camp: “Rats fed on a diet containing NK603—a seed variety made tolerant to dousings of Monsanto’s Roundup weedkiller—or given water with Roundup added at levels permitted in the United States, died earlier than those on a standard diet,” Reuters reported last September.” The fact that there could be danger involved and felt later on down the road due to eating GMO foods, is what most consumers are focusing on these days and with good merit. If this is happening to the rat population, then you can bet our plight as human beings consuming these products, isn’t far behind.

NYK (Now You Know) …

…that when it comes to the truth about GMO foods, rats aren’t fairing any better than humans will. We must stand up and be counted before devastation really begins to hit the fan. The children of today don’t deserve the devastation that they face tomorrow. We made this mess and we should be responsible for cleaning it up and cleaning it up NOW, not later on. Stay tuned for more information to come.

Through education and unity toward the common good for all and not just corporate giants, we can take back our right to good, unadulterated, whole, nutritious food and getting back to letting thy food be thy medicine and thy fellow man and mother nature be thy farmers.

20 Year Study on GMO Corn Results are In

Posted in Environmental, GMOs on 02.04.13

NoIncreaseInYieldThe results of a 20 year study that were conducted by the University of Wisconsin are suggesting that planting transgene corn does not ensure larger yields. There are some GMO strains that yield a slightly higher yield but then there were others that were beat out by the non-GMO counterparts. As per Tom Philpott who writes for Mother Jones, the study shows that genetically altering corn “causes unintended changes in the way it grows, causing it to be less productive.”

GMO – The Deceit Continues

secret…there was so much information out there about genetically modified foods that just isn’t hitting mainstream media, at least I don’t think it is hitting the media. I’m not hearing anything. Granted I don’t really turn on the television these days. I don’t read newspapers either. There is just too much negativity for me in the media. Besides, I would rather focus on finding the positives and moving forward toward reversing the challenges rather than dwell on what is wrong. Heck, we all know what’s wrong or do we? What we need is to know what’s right and then we need to move in that direction.

This is why I do what I do. I educate those that are sick and tired of being sick and tired. I focus on happiness, great health and wellness and help move people away from the status quo which just doesn’t work. I will now jump to the chase and give you

When Food Manufactures Won’t Label GMO, Consumers Won’t Buy!

Muir GlenDid you know that the popular Muir Glen Organic Label is owned by General Mills? Well now you know. And did you know that General Mills is lobbying against putting GMO status on its labels? And did you know that they lobbied to the tune of donating $1.2 million to stop the GMO labeling campaign in California in 2012? They do not want to have to tell you if the ingredients in their brands of food have GMO’s in them. I guess it is like opening up a can of worms. Profit wise it would send them on their butts at least for a while. Can you imagine Cheerios not having any GMO’s in them? Ah, you didn’t know that did you? And children are probably the biggest consumers of Cheerios, especially babies right? I remember it was

Food Fight Anyone?

Posted in GMOs, Political America on 22.01.13

I Didn’t Know That (IDKT) …

food fight…Here is another update on the quest to get GMO foods labeled. Big Food and Biotech corporations can fight against labeling all they want but consumers can and will continue to propose state laws and state ballot initiatives as often as is needed until we win. If 61 other countries in the world have mandatory GMO labeling laws, then I see no reason why we cannot have the same here in the good old US of A.

I’ve been told that activists in the state of Washington are delivering approximately 350,000 signatures to the state legislature to guarantee that a mandatory GMO labeling Initiative, I-522, will be on the ballot in November. Vermont legislatures will reintroduce a GMO labeling bill early this year. Connecticut plans to introduce one in May.

Come on guys, why is this an issue? If GMO’s are so good for us, why not let us know by telling us that we are eating them? Inquiring minds want to know.

Urgent National Action Alert!!

Stand up for your right to know what is in our food!

From Organic Consumers Association website …

“OCA has learned, as we reported last week, that Vermont may not pass the GMO Labeling law now languishing in the state legislature, because Monsanto has threatened to sue the state if they pass the bill. According to informed sources, Vermont Governor Peter Schumlin is probably the only one who can save the bill from dying in this legislature session, which ends May 1.

Please get on the phone right now to Governor Schumlin and tell him not to buckle under Monsanto’s biotech bullying. We need a GMO labeling bill and we need one right now. Vermont can and should lead the way! Other states will follow.

Please pick up the phone now and call Governor Schumlin’s office:

Phone: 802 828-3333
TTY:800 649-6825
Fax: 802 828-3339
Email: GovernorVT@state.vt.us”

Friends,

I just called the governors office and left word that I’m pro GMO labeling – asking for his support – they took the info and said they are keeping track of the incoming calls and are very aware of the issue.

SO CALL – NOW – this is big guys – WE CAN’T LET CORPORATE AMERICA DICTATE WHAT THEY WILL AND WILL NOT DO. This is criminal strong arming at its best. Mafia control might be a better description. IT MUST STOP NOW.  WE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT WE ARE PUTTING INTO OUR BODIES!

Please help me, help you, help us – all of us.

Thanks, Coach “D”
