Virtual support group launch; With the arrival of virtual medical care including virtual weight loss/detox support and care, I have decided to take this meetup group virtual. I will be giving out phone numbers and log in codes for those wishing to attend these meetings either live or during rebroadcast. These virtual support group meetings will focus on weight loss, hormone balancing, adrenal gland and thyroid issues. These are all issues that affect our ability to lose weight and get and/or stay healthy.

From time to time I will have guest speakers join in. Meetings will be announced well in advance through Meet Up. The main topic of the meeting will be posted as well.  In particular, Dr. Edward W. Pearson, a medical doctor from Stuart Florida, has been doing virtual medical care since the early 2000’s. Dr. Pearson will be involved with our virtual support group on occasion and will be discussing medical issues, diseases, healing naturally and the importance of maintaining a body’s natural balance.

Other topics of discussion will include losing weight and keeping it off, the psychology of food, food quality, addictions, food prep, recipes, and anything else that the members deem important to their overall success of losing and maintaining a healthy weight and trim body. The flow of education to all that attend will not stop. Virtual support and education will be on-going from meeting to meeting. Research facts and figures and helpful information on how best to stay healthy and lean will be an ongoing topic of conversation. Our goal is not to attack what we all know is broken, but instead, offer assistance to facilitate improvement.

We will be charging a small fee to cover the costs involved in putting these meetings together. The fees will be announced for each individual meeting. The kick off meeting explaining the group is free to all. Most meeting, however, will cost $5 and can be paid through Meet Up. You can join the Meet Up group at no cost and only pay for the meetings you attend.

Remember if you can’t make a particular meeting, join anyway and pay to attend.  You can ask questions in advance via email and listen to the answers on the recording at your leisure.

Progesterone, The Hormone

I Didn’t Know That (IDKT) …

natural-progesterone

progesterone is the major female hormone and that it is known as an androgen (steroid type) hormone. Progesterone has a calming effect on the body. It is important for healthy HDL levels (healthy cholesterol) and all organ system function including cardio vascular and brain, skin, immunity, fertility, and libido. Most women today are deficient. Men only need a tiny bit, similar to what a woman would need of testosterone. I also didn’t know that most women today are deficient in progesterone and could improve over-all health by knowing their progesterone levels and making sure there is an adequate amount in their bodies at all times.

THE BIG 8 HORMONES

Posted in Hormones on 14.01.13

I Didn’t Know That (IDKT) …

hormones1…there are 8 major hormones that should be tested for when having hormone levels test. Here is the low down:

DHEA is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that your body uses for the production of testosterone and estrogen (and other hormones). DHEA can help prevent osteoporosis, improve adrenal failure issues, improve sexual function in men and women, and can alleviate depression. Although it is sold over the counter as a vitamin or nutritional supplement, it is not a nutrient and is usually manufactured through a synthetic chemical process. DHEA should only be administered by a doctor that understands hormones and hormone balancing.

Estradiol is considered the problematic

Testosterone, The Hormone

… testosterone is the major male foundational hormone and an androgen (steroid type) hormone that also has a calming effect on the body. It is important for healthy HDL levels and all organ system functioning including cardio vascular, brain, skin, immunity and fertility/libido. Most men today are deficient. Women can have too much as they only need a little. I also didn’t know that many men today are deficient in testosterone and could improve over-all health by knowing their testosterone levels and making sure there is an adequate amount of natural, not synthetic testosterone, in their bodies at all times.

Men with low testosterone also have a strong likelihood of developing the various conditions of metabolic syndrome, which increases the risk of heart disease and diabetes. They may suffer from Erectile Dysfunction and according to a 2009 study from the Universities of Zurich and Royal Holloway London, the testosterone hormone, while commonly associated with aggression and sex drive, is also thought to encourage social behavior and honesty.

To find out your testosterone levels, visit our website and learn who I trust to keep my hormones in tact.

What is Progesterone – Now you know!

Posted in Hormones on 04.09.11

Progesterone is a major female hormone, an androgen that is very calming.  Progesterone is important for healthy HDL levels and all organ system functions including cardio vascular and brain, skin, immunity, fertility and libido.  Most women today are deficient and/or are out of balance in comparison to what their estrogen levels are which can lead to other complications.  Progesterone should only be administered by a doctor that understands hormone balancing and how progesterone relates to estrogen.  Many times estrogen and progesterone are prescribed together when actually what is needed is the detoxification of excess estrogen and the administering of some progesterone is lower doses to bring the body back into balance.
