Hitler is alive and well in the United States and in control of our food supply!
Rumor has it that genetically modified (GM) foods are properly tested, safe and are very possibly the ultimate answer to world hunger. Right this very minute, states like Vermont are being pushed into a corner. We the people want to know which foods are GM foods. We want labeling on the products we purchase so we can make the decision if we want to purchase them or not. Companies like Monsanto are fighting that request. They are even threatening to sue states like Vermont if they go ahead with labeling plans. As you can guess, Vermont is buckling under the pressure of affordability. Other states are watching closely. How can already strapped states afford to defend their stand on this request with the likes of fat cats such as Monsanto with very deep pockets bullying them into submission? It seems to me that the corporate mafia is alive and well these days. And you thought Al Capon was a bad guy! You thought Hitler was dead?
Let’s get to the facts. According to Pushpa M. Bhargava, a world renowned biologist, genetically modified organisms are a major contributor to the sharply deteriorating health of America. Dr. John Boyles, a Ohio allergist states “I used to test for soy allergies all the time, but now that soy is genetically engineered, it is so dangerous that I tell people never to eat it.” Michigan internal medicine specialist, Dr. Amy Dean who is a board member of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) further states and “strongly recommends patients eat strictly non-genetically modified foods.” Dr. Edward W. Pearson, honor graduate of the University of Florida as well as the South Florida College of Medicine, a Diplomat with the American Board of Holistic Medicine and graduate of the Institute of Functional Medicine, is of the same mindset. He practices along side of his wife Dr. Julie Pearson, who is a specialist in pediatric health, pregnancy and organic healthcare. They started the New Medicine Foundation with a global mission to elevate the health and health education of humanity. Their practice has set out to correct the ailing healthcare systems throughout the world. They feel very strongly that there is a complete lack of health education from our schools to our healthcare systems and that the conventional medical model has been corrupted with the profitability of our drug and surgery based emergency care system.
The truth is that the AAEM has called out to “Physicians to educate their patients, the medical community and the public to avoid GM foods when possible and provide educational materials concerning GM foods and health risks.” They also called for a moratorium on GM foods, as well as labeling and long-term independent studies. The AAEM further stated that there are “Several animal studies (that) indicate serious health risks associated with GM food,” Some of those risks included accelerated aging, insulin regulation, infertility, immune problems and changes in gastrointestinal and other major organ systems. The AAEM went on further to conclude that “There is more than a casual association between GM foods and adverse health effects…there is causation,”.
What happened between 1990 and now? Back then, it was the FDA’s scientific consensus that GM foods were dangerous and could possibly create difficulties with allergies, poisons, nutritional problems, gut issues and even new diseases. It was originally the FDA that recommended long term testing of new GMO foods.
Well, I’ll tell you what happened. Political agendas ordered the FDA to promote biotechnology. The FDA’s answer to that order was to hire Michael Taylor, Monsanto’s former attorney, to oversee the formation of GMO policy. Doesn’t this sound like the story of the wolf guarding the hen house? The Whitehouse wolves pressured the FDA to get GM foods to store shelves quickly, forcing officials to rubber-stamp research from greedy biotech companies like Monsanto. Once again, it is proven that the FDA is in bed with big corporations in addition to big pharma.
Don’t believe me, guess where Mr. Michael Taylor went next. He later returned to Monsanto and became their Vice President leaving that position in January of 2010 because he was appointed deputy commissioner for foods at the FDA. The bottom line is that there is a revolving door policy between government regulators, the FDA and the biotech industry. That revolving door allowed GM foods to enter our food supply ten years ago blindly led by those with ulterior motives, no safety studies and without even a single published human clinical trial. Doesn’t this sound like something we have read about in history books? I think the guys name I’m referring to is Hitler! I for one am appalled. You should be too.

Vermont’s GMO Labeling law is sitting in their legislature and their legislative session ends May 1st. This law needs to be passed before the end of their session. Tell the governor not to buckle under Monsanto’s pressure. With the support of the people behind him, he can only succeed. Cave in and we’re all losers anyway. We shouldn’t let a lawsuit dictate our actions. Right is right, genetically modified or not!
