Fasting Blood Sugar Numbers – Did You Know?

Posted in Diabetes, Food Addiction, Knowledge is Power Series, Weight Loss on 22.06.16

I Didn’t Know That …

A fasting blood sugar level over 100mg/dl is considered a pre-diabetic condition.a fasting blood sugar level over 100mg/dl is considered a pre-diabetic condition. I didn’t realize how devastatingly close that is to 126mg/dl which is the diagnosis number for diabetes. I also didn’t know that numbers much lower than these are what start the process of illness in the body. That’s right, blood sugar levels determine what your risk is for heart disease, cancer, kidney and nerve damage as well as dementia and stroke.

Having a hard time losing weight? Do you feel like you are aging faster than you should be? The process of getting diabetes begins with insulin resistance. It has been said by many doctors that understand the process of blood sugar malfunctions in the body that it is the major cause of aging and death in the developed world.

Diabetes has to be one of the, if not THE, most preventable disease that is being talked about and managed today. Obesity and diabetes go hand in hand. Did you know that gaining just 11 to 16 pounds doubles your risk for getting type 2 diabetes? Gaining 17 to 24 pounds triples that risk! Now I ask you, if that is the case, why do we have soda machines in offices and schools throughout our country? Why do we promote liquid sugar drinks, liquid calories, that are instantly absorbed into the blood stream? Products such as soda, most juices, sports drinks, and the like along with refined carbohydrates like bread, rice, potatoes, pasta are the most consumed foods and beverages in this country.

We need to wake up and start making major changes in this country if we are going to live long and prosper. Otherwise, who will be caring for us as the year’s progress and we get sicker and sicker and sicker and sicker. And I have to ask myself what our quality of life will be like then? Do you really want to live in a body that is in constant pain and rotting from the inside out? Well, I guess in the big scheme of things, you won’t even know it because dementia will set in and you’ll be clueless? Right? Hummmm now that is something to ponder and something we won’t know until we get there.

Now You Know …

This  on-going weekly teleconference focuses on over-all health, weight and your sanity.  This week, special guest Dr. Edward W. Pearson talks about how weight loss programs deplete hormones like progesterone, thyroid, growth hormone, etc and actually set you up for a rebound weight challenge.

BLOG VII –  Dr. Pearson is our guest this week and will be discussing how weight loss programs deplete hormones like progesterone, thyroid, growth hormone, etc and actually sets you up for a rebound weight challenge.   Stop the yo yo dieting once and for all!

Please refer to the other blogs in this series for beginning recordings along with my recap/diary for the past six weeks.  That will get you started with information about the program and how I am personally progressing.  This week the focus is on how weight loss programs can actually further deplete an already depleted hormonal system within the body.  Hormones like progesterone, thyroid, growth hormone, testosterone, etc, can be depleted more, causing even more issues including the rebound weight challenge.  Focusing on why this happens and what  you can do to stop the yo yo weight madness is the topic of the discussion featuring our guest Dr. Edward W. Pearson of the New Medicine Foundation who focuses on health and wellness  and treats patients virtually around the world.

4/06/2016 – Let’s Get The Weight Off Forever – Meet Up April 13, 2016

Recommendations for Reading & Watching & Visiting:

  1. New Medicine Foundation – Visit the site to find out more about what Dr. Pearson does and how NMF can help you.
  2. EPI – Paleo Rx – The Prescription for Disease Reversal and Optimal Health by Dr. Jack Kruse – I have been told that this book is very technical and difficult to read for some. If you are not a detail person and just want the procedures, tune into these blogs and skip purchasing the book.
  3. The Paleo Answer – Book written by Loren Cordain, PhD. This is a very good book on the topic.  Goes into how many meals to eat a day, vegetarianism, milk, grains, beans, potatoes and how food affects the bodies auto immune system.
  4. The Paleo Solution – Book written by Robb Wolf. The Ice Man – I mentioned him in my talk too.  Amazing what the human body can do.  http://www.bengreenfieldfitness.com/2014/03/iceman-wim-hof/
  5. Mastering Leptin – Book written by Byron J. Richards, CCN.

Following is my diary for the week:

04/14/16 – I’m still in NJ caring for my dad.  I am maintaining the paleo way of eating for the most part BUT am not 100% true.  My dad won’t eat paleo and carbs are the mainstay of his diet.  BUT I am still feeling great and my cloths are getting looser.  I will be glad when I am home and back in a nurturing environment.

04/14/16 – Skipping breakfast today except for a small amount of ham that I ate this morning so that I was able to take my supplements.  After reviewing the best times to eat the “paleo” way, it seems that our ancestors spent the day hunting and gathering and then prepared their meal in the late afternoon or evening, consuming all that they gathered in one sitting. I have decided that I will let my body dictate how I eat and as long as I am not hungry, I won’t force myself.  I will instead eat when I am substantially hungry and will also monitor my ketone levels.  I now show trace amounts of ketones in my urine and hope to increase that to moderate by the weekend.

04/11/16 – I am getting by bare bones with what I have in the house to eat. I really need to get to the store but am swamped with work and playing catch up with mail, etc here at home.  Hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday will see me caught up and back on track.  I do feel great though.  I have no desire for carbs, sugar or eating poorly or over eating for that matter.  Eventually I will not have a problem with eating once per day and I have decided that this will be my end goal when it comes to food consumption.

3/23/2016 – Let’s Get The Weight Off Forever – Meet Up March 30, 2016

Recommendations for Reading & Watching:

  1.  EPI – Paleo Rx – The Prescription for Disease Reversal and Optimal Health by Dr. Jack Kruse – I have been told that this book is very technical and difficult to read for some. If you are not a detail person and just want the procedures, tune into these blogs and skip purchasing the book.
  2. Good Read Article – I mentioned this in my talk.  Here is the link to read for yourself. http://www.bengreenfieldfitness.com/2012/09/burning-more-fat-with-cold/
  3. Article on Wim Hof – The Ice Man – I mentioned him in my talk too.  Amazing what the human body can do.  http://www.bengreenfieldfitness.com/2014/03/iceman-wim-hof/
  4. Here is a list of studies that have been done on cold thermogenesis that you might want to research yourself –

Following is my diary for the week:

03/30/16 – I am still traveling and am now staying with my dad in New Jersey.  I did another cold bath today.  Got my body temp down to 56 degrees.  Spent 40 minutes in the tub.  I have to say that it is refreshing when I get out and get dressed and move around.  Very energizing.  I am sleeping very soundly at night, better than usual.  All in all I am liking the experience.

03/31/16 – Same as yesterday.  Had dinner out with a friend.  Not really noticing weight loss but I am also not paying attention to diet as I would if I were home.  It has been difficult to cook for my father while cooking for myself as he is a big sauce type of guy.  Like creamy foods like mashed potatoes and gravy, pot pies, thicken sauces, stuffing, etc.  I am converting him as best I can but at 84 years of age, he really doesn’t care about his health.  He said he has made it this far and I really can’t argue with him.

04/01/16 – No bath today but I lost 5 pounds this morning.  Amazing right….. April Fool.  LOL.  Sorry couldn’t resist.  Not much to report today.  I still don’t have a scale so I can’t report on weight.  Had some leftover chicken soup for breakfast and then a salad and a piece of fish for dinner.  No cravings, no hunger to speak of.  All is going well in that department.

04/02/16 – Continue to eat paleo. Protein rich breakfast within 1/2 hour of rising.  No more food until dinner.  I don’t have access to a scale so I am unable to weigh in.  Will be back home on Wednesday so I’ll be able to get back in the swing with weigh ins then.

04/03/16 – Skipped breakfast today as I was going to a family function at 3:00pm. I wasn’t that hungry either so all worked out.  My family was there so I was on my best behavior when it came to food choices at an Italian restaurant.  I ordered flounder stuffed with crabmeat. It came with steamed veggies and a bit of rice.  I did have a little cheesecake for dessert to celebrate my uncle’s 87th birthday and I had a glass of wine.  That was it.  No bread, pasta.  Felt full and satisfied and didn’t eat anything later on.  I really think my leptin has been significantly reduced.  Testing in a few weeks will verify this.

04/04/16 – I have been studying the Paleo information I have (I have gotten several books on the topic) and all are saying that eating one meal a day is part of the program.  Interesting to think about and I might give it a try and see what happens.  Right now my focus is on reversing my out of wack leptin issues but once that is done, I’ll consider other options for a new way of eating.  I am going to devote this coming Wednesday night’s teleconference to talking about the Paleo way and how often one should eat.

3/23/2016 – Let’s Get The Weight Off Forever – Meet Up March 23, 2016

Recommendations for Reading & Watching:

  1.  EPI – Paleo Rx – The Prescription for Disease Reversal and Optimal Health by Dr. Jack Kruse – I have been told that this book is very technical and difficult to read for some. If you are not a detail person and just want the procedures, tune into these blogs and skip purchasing the book.
  2. COLOSTRUM – Good information relating to colostrum as another tool to help heal leaky gut – if you would like to know where to get it, contact Coach Donna Appel for her source.  https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/six-ways-colostrum-fights-cancer/

Following is my diary for the week documenting my routine and the results:

03/23/16 – I am still traveling and am now staying with my dad in New Jersey.  Trying to do the cold baths requires that I do a little shopping to equip the bathroom.  That won’t happen until the weekend.  I have done some shopping and continue to eat Paleo per the Epi-Paleo Rx book I mentioned last week. All is going fine. Need to shop and start to prepare foods again. Will be getting my father into the program as best I can.  84 is not a good time to start teaching an old dog new tricks.

03/24/16 – I am itching to do some more cold thermo baths.  Believe it or not, I am missing them.  I shopped today and will be preparing healthier meals tomorrow.  I need to get a new crock pot.  They seem to be an essential tool for ease in preparing healthy paleo meals.

03/25/16 – I am up by 7:30 to 8am now. Eating within a half hour of rising and not eating again until dinner.  Feeling very good although not getting any exercise to speak of.

03/26/16 – I was able to get to Bed, Bath and Beyond to pick up the over-flow restricter for the bath tub.  I was able to do the cold therm bath after dinner.  The faucet bath water was around 48 degrees. The tub was around 50 and I was able to get my skin temp to 56.  All was fine but when I got out and dried off, put on my PJ’s and socks and slippers, I found that I was unusually cold.  I believe it was due to the fact that I was not moving around.  It was bedtime.  I did go to bed a bit early but found that I was unable to get warm.  I had a restless sleep and won’t be doing that again. I think in the future I will do these cold thermo baths in the morning after breakfast.

03/27/16 – It is Easter – prepared a paleo dinner but also be prepared mashed potatoes for my dad (his favorite with gravy) so I will be indulging in that carb dish and will also be having strawberry short cake for dessert.  It is a holiday so I tend to forget strict adherence to diet, opting to remember the holiday and enjoy it without guilt.  Mission accomplished although I did have my usual high protein breakfast in the morning and we ate a bit later in the day so I only consumed 2 meals as I usually do. No negative side affects that night.  All is well.

03/28/16 –  All is still going well.  I had a breakfast engagement at 9:00am so I was unable to do a cold thermo bath. I will postpone that til tomorrow morning.  Back to normal eating paying attention to eating good quality protein and fat and a few veggies at dinner.  I tend to eat high protein at breakfast, especially with the cold thermo baths in the plan.

03/29/16 –  I had eggs and sausage for breakfast although I did not eat to capacity. I was not in the mood.  BUT I did do a morning cold thermo bath after breakfast.  This approach is much more tolerable for me.  I spent 40 minutes in the tub which was filled to capacity. I got my body temp to 56 degrees.  I was not cold in the water at all. It is actually amazing to me. I did wash my hair first in tepid water in the show and then started to fill the tub with cold water. Once I get 3 or 4 inches of water filling it, I switch to just cold water.  When I start out it is cold but not pure cold – I’d guess the water is approx 65 degrees for the first few inches.  My body tends to acclimate better doing that.  I am not a fill up the tub with cold water and get in kind of person. You can but I like the slower approach letting my body adjust a little at a time.  Once done, I dressed for the day and then went to work at my computer.  I was up and down though and active. It was much better this time around. I will continue with morning cold thermo baths after breakfast.

BLOG II – Leptin, the How and Why of this Hormone

Please refer to the first blog in this series for the first two recordings along with my recap/diary for the week of March 9th through the 15th.  That will get you started with information about the program and how I am personally progressing.  Moving forward what I plan on doing is taking a segment of the program and talking about it in detail.  This week is focusing on Leptin itself.  What it is, what it does, etc.

3/16/2016 – Let’s Get The Weight Off Forever – Leptin, What it is and How it Works

Recommendations for Reading & Watching:

  1.  EPI – Paleo Rx – The Prescription for Disease Reversal and Optimal Health by Dr. Jack Kruse
  2. GOT MILK – Great Documentary that everyone should see about the origin of drinking milk – http://www.milkdocumentary.com/trailer/

Following is my diary for the week documenting my routine and the results:

03/16/16 – I was at a charity event last night so I didn’t get a chance to eat dinner other than to have 2 small appetizers that were being passed around.  Once contained cheese with a bread crumb topping – deep fried and the other was also deep fried and contained a wheat coating.  I had two of each and called it a night for eating. I also had 2 white wine spritzers containing about one ounce of wine each and topped off with club soda.  I wasn’t really hungry, came home and went to bed. I was exhausted from never going to bed the night before and was in bed by 10pm.  I also didn’t want to eat so close to bed time.  Since I wasn’t that hungry, I just drank a glass of water and went to bed.  I felt fine this morning but was a bit on the hungry side.  I had an omelet for breakfast (no potatoes, toast or cheese).  That was at 9:00am.  It is now 6:00pm and I am going to dinner with friends at 7:00pm.  Unlike my past, I will be fine until I am able to eat dinner that will consist of seafood and salad.  My breakfast was all protein (required for reversing leptin resistance) so my dinner will contain some veggies. Since I’m traveling, I won’t be able to do a cold thermo bath until Saturday evening.

03/17/16 – I’ve been vacationing and enjoying my friends and not paying much attention to food.  I am not able to eat as promptly as if I were home as there are others that are joining me so I have to wait.  I am still maintaining my 2 meal a day schedule.  I am still eating a high protein breakfast and find that I am not hungry until 7 or 8pm so all is good.  No sugar/starch cravings either.  All is good.

03/18/16 – Again, enjoying my time off but not paying much attention to food intake.  Same as above with regard to eating, etc.  I can tell I have not gained any weight and I’m easily maintaining what I have loss thus far.

03/19/16 – Ditto on the above.

03/20/16 – Ditto on the above.

03/21/16 –  All is still going well.  Because of the traveling I am doing, I haven’t been able to get the food I need as easily.  I’m not eating the wrong foods as I have no desire.  But I am also not eating as I would like to be.  As a result, my energy levels are off a bit and I’m just not feeling 100%.  I know this will change by Wednesday though.  Remember life is a journey.  Don’t fret over the small stuff and what I am experiencing in the big scheme of things, really is small stuff.

03/22/16 –  Well it is happy birthday to my dad.  I arrived today and he was very surprised.  But like I said above, due to traveling I haven’t been eating as well as I would like.  I did stop at Wendy’s while driving and ordered a double burger.  I removed the bread and just at the meat.  That was satisfying to my hunger and lasted me til dinner.  We had a birthday dinner for my father and I ate 2 small bites of his cheesecake.  No other desserts.  I don’t miss dessert, don’t crave it – absolutely no sugar or carb cravings.  What a great feeling.  Tomorrow I will get back to cold thero baths I hope.  If I am unable to do one of Wednesday then I will do one on Thursday and get back into the swing of it all.

This  is an on-going weekly teleconference devoted to over-all health, weight and your sanity.

As a coach working with a board certified medical doctor in the alternative care field, I have come to realize that people are walking around the world lost in a sea of misinformation about food intake and health. Tune in to this series as Coach Donna Appel, Coach D for short, goes through a process of transformation.  She has been in the health and wellness and weight loss field for nearly ten years and has made some life changing discoveries that she wants to share with the world.  Everything she stands behind is virtual and can be done from the comfort of your home.  That is everything from testing kits to get your hormones tested to adrenal and complete blood lab evaluations.

This series is going to focus on losing weight once and for all.  She got hormonally balanced and was eating and living a pretty healthy lifestyle, however, the weight was creeping on once again.  Instead of getting mad, depressed, frustrated and giving up, she set her sites on success and finding out the truth about what and how we should eat, what was the cause of the weight gain and how could she could stop this hideous process regardless of age (she is now 62).

The great news is that she discovered the secret.  AND wants to share it with you.  Here is the first recording in the series. Each week, we’ll be adding recording information AND she’ll be keeping a journal of daily progress right here.  So let’s get started.

3/2/2016 – Get Ready – Let’s Get The Weight Off Forever – Understanding how and why it works

Tonight we went into more detail talking about the origin and why Dr. Jack Kruse dove into this protocol. We talked about the three things you need to do to address chronic weight issues and rid yourself of fat and toxins and weight resistance once and for all.  They include healing leaky gut syndrome, turning off the leptin resistence to regain leptin sensitivity, eating a paleo diet (slightly altered in the beginning according to Dr. Kruse AND adding cold thermogenesis to the overall plan.  Here are the books suggested if you decide you want to dive into this: Epi-Paleo Rx by Dr. Jack Kruse, Mastering Leptin by Byron J and Mary Guignon Richards, The Paleo Solution The Original Human Diet by Robb Wolf.  Let me know if you have any questions after listening to the recording.

3/9/2016 – Get Go – Let’s Get The Weight Off Forever Part 2 – The Fat is Melting Off – Learn Why/How

Following is my diary for the week documenting my routine and the results:

03/09/2016 – I ended up NOT doing the cold bath last night as it was too far between when I had dinner and when I was able to crawl into the tub.  I will save it for Thursday night (tomorrow).

03/10/2016 –  I took a cold thermogenic bath at about 7:30pm. Before the bath, I drank 32oz of ice cold water. I was in the tub for 35 minutes. It is getting easier to take these baths and I am amazed at how quickly I am able to adapt without feeling cold.  I start out sitting in the tub of cool water.  I fill it about an inch and then I turn up the cold.  I have my temperature gun and found the water to come out of the tap at 55 degrees.  I ended up with a body temp of 62 degrees and called it quits after 35 minutes.

03/11/2016 – I have a busy birthday weekend planned for Don so I’m not sure what I will be able to maintain food wise but I did start the weekend with another cold bath around 4:00pm.  This time I added a gallon sized bag of ice and got my body temp to 60 degrees.  The ice melted within about 10 minutes and I was amazed that having the ice touch my already cold skin was not a bother.  I stayed in the cold bath for 40 minutes, got out, got dressed and took a walk.  I am noticing that my muffin top is fading although my weight is not shifting much.  Definitely change taking place.  No body pains to complain about either.  Had a nice Tuscany Italian dinner consisting of a few veggies and fish.  One bite of birthday cake.  All in all I was not hungry or craving anything and was easily able to push food away.  I just didn’t want it.

03/12/16 – Up early and had a breakfast of eggs and steak. We were on the road by 9am for Don’s birthday surprise – 1 hour of small plane flying. He was the pilot after a brief ground instruction from our “real” pilot.  Don really did fly though – took off as well – did it all except land.  I maintained my feeling of being full with no craving other than for water.  I had a cup of tea while on the road and other than that didn’t eat anything until mid afternoon after we got to the winery.  Later that day I ate some cheese (a no-no but all they had), some sliced salami and grapes (typical wine tasting fare). Yes I drank wine, then at a little BBQ around 7pm – no bread or crackers – just BBQ, potato salad and baked beans – and it was just a bite of each.  Again, no hunger or cravings.  Had a bite of birthday cake that was sickening sweet.

03/13/16 – Today I am focusing on work and on cooking better paleo dishes that focus on fish.  I’ll make a fish stew in the crock pot and make sure I have plenty left over for tomorrow.  I’ll be traveling next week but will do my best to stay paleo and maintain what I am currently doing.

03/14/16 – Fish stew was awesome and so simple to make with a crock pot.  I just dumped a bunch of different fishes in the pot from shrimp to oysters, clams, mussels, a slab of fish, and some scallops. Then I added tomatoes, clam juice with red and green peppers and a little onion pureed in a blender, spices to taste, and I topped it off with water – a cup or two to fill the crock.   About 3 hours later dinner was ready.  I had plenty left over to have for today and tomorrow.  Tonight I will do another cold therogenesis bath.  BTW, this morning I was feeling thinner even though I partied for Don’s birthday Friday and Saturday.  The scale didn’t budge BUT I was able to get into my size 6 pants this morning.  I’m thrilled as the muffin top is disappearing.

03/15/16 – Never went to bed last night.  This is a no no and I know better but I had a flight out of DC at 6:20am and had lots to get done in order to leave and be able to enjoy myself for a couple of days.  I’m on a quest to see my daughter who just turned 25 so this is an important trip for me.  BUT I still have a job as a coach and responsibilities with patients getting healthy, going through detoxes, etc so I need to prepare to be ready.  Sleep deprivation should not be something that any of us ever strive for.  Sometimes it is a requirement of life but we always need to be mindful of the fact that we need our rest.  Our body rebuilds and repairs during the sleep cycle. We need to be aware, appreciative of the body we have been given and give it a rest.  I will be sure to make up for it tonight by eating a healthy dinner earlier than usual so I can get a good night’s sleep earlier than usual.  I also didn’t get a chance to do another cold thermo bath.  I’ve done three though and will be talking about this in the coming weeks.  This is it for this blog and this week.  Look for the new blog that begins on March 16th and run through the 22nd with my check in notes/diary.

Never Give Up But Always Stick Together
A Winning Combo

1385282_10151665910376160_352375928_nNever give up. We are winning and starting to see the demise of corporate corruption the likes of Monsanto. The public is very powerful when we work together. Watch this – http://naturalsociety.com/victory-senate-to-kill-monsanto-protection-act-amid-outrage/

Continued exposure has had Germany tell the EU that it is banning GMO crops. El Salvador kicked Monsanto and their seeds out of their country. 65 nations are now labeling and 14 have banned GMO’d crops. The dark act (deny American’s the right to know) HR 1599 passed the US House of Representatives. If you look at house members who voted in favor of the dark act you see that those individuals received an average of 3 times as much money from big ag as those that voted against it. Communicate with your senators. Tell them enough is enough. http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

Monsanto’s stock has gone down. Monsanto is going to be tried at the international criminal court in 2016 for charges of ecocide and crimes against humanity and nature. This is a class action suit organized by Millions against Monsanto, Organic Consumers Association and many other groups.

You Must Love Yourself First

loveyourselfAs a health coach and leader in the field of using hCG for detoxification, I thought I would write a bit about our beliefs. What I have realized is that so much of the detoxification process involves the brain and how we look at ourselves from our conscious and subconscious mind. The bottom line is that we all must must must love ourselves to the core of our very being. If we are ever going to be successful in the “get healthy and/or lose weight” reality of our lives, or in any reality of our life for that matter, then we must must must be sure to love ourselves first and foremost.

I’m Positive This Works Moving Forward

DSC_0104Why is it that people are so fascinated by negativity? Have you ever really stopped to contemplate that statement? Have you ever stopped and really listened to yourself and whether what is coming out of your mouth is positive or negative in nature? From the daily news to reality television shows and daily newspaper headlines, they all focus on the negative. I think we are a product of our environment and never realized it.

I’m not sure why this is or how it happened but I do see it going hand in hand with the stressful lives we lead these days. We no longer get to focus on one task at hand. We are too consumed with many thoughts bombarding us all at the same time. For instance, we are focused on getting to work on time and not thinking about the people we are cutting off, flipping the finger at and/or giving a few ill-spoken words of disdain to. How can we be thinking of those actions when we are also consumed with thoughts of being late to work, worrying about the child that we just dropped off at day care and wondering what we will be preparing for dinner when we get home from work that night.

It is difficult to think of the positive actions that are happening in our lives when we have so much going on at one time. We are in constant worry mode. Why do we do this? How did we let things get so out of control? These are the questions that I have been asking myself lately. I have made a big effort to slow down, to stop and smell the roses and to appreciate all that I have in my life.

I have begun to ask myself to evaluate what is really important to me. I have begun to get rid of stuff in my life that bogs me down. If I haven’t used it in a year, out it goes. If I don’t 100% just love the item that sits on my coffee table or book shelf, out it goes. I am becoming a minimalist because it is in having the minimal that I am finding my joy and am able to focus on human beings rather than things.

My focus moving forward is on living a life full of love, joy and happiness. The days of having to dust something week after week after week or have closets that are busting at the seams with things I never use are over. I want to focus on smiling, clear thinking, waving courteously at an on-coming car or pedestrian trying to cross the street. I want to drive to work calm, with a smile on my face. I want to have dinner planned in advance so when I arrive home from work, I can sit and relax for a bit and contemplate the joy of having my husband and/or family sit around a dinner table discussing the day’s events.

I want to get back to being thankful for the positive events in my life. I want to say thank you to people when they do nice things for me instead of scurrying on and not noticing the door that was held open just for me or the person that stepped aside so I could go ahead of them in line.

I’m taking a stand. I am done with the rat race. Want to join me? Here is what I will be doing moving forward. I’m going to call my dad and chat on the phone more often. I’m going to smile and say thank you to everyone that serves me anything in any capacity. I’m going to be mindful of holding doors open for others and stepping aside for another hurried soul. I’m going to do something for someone that is totally unexpected. I’m going to take a walk and appreciate the great planet that we live on and if I see a piece of trash on the ground, I’m going to bend over, pick it up and toss it in the trash. If I do these things, maybe, just maybe, someone will notice and will be inspired to do the same.

When it comes to work, I’m going to put in my 8 hour work day, making sure I take a lunch break in the middle. I won’t be multi-tasking either. I’m going to focus on the task at hand with intent and get it done before I move onto the next task. I’m going to concentrate and do the best job I can do and put in my time diligently. I’m going to give my clients the attention they deserve and handle their needs in a swift and efficient manner.

And at the end of my day, I’m going to write in my gratitude journal, giving thanks for all the people I came in contact with, for the food that nourished my body and for the opportunity to live happy, healthy and in love and free of negativity.
How about you? Care to join me? Drop me a line or better yet, I will copy this message to my blog. I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments.

Wishing you all great health, wellness, and abundant happiness, Always, Coach “D”
