Did you know that Alexa, Amazon’s voice-command response system, is now HIPPA compliant and has been for awhile?

Did you know that Alexa is now in the medical arena?  They are now in partner with Providence St. Joseph Health, Atrium Health, Cigna Health, Livongo, Boston Children’s Hospital and Express Scripts.  I wonder how many more have signed up to participate in the past 4 years?

Did you know that Alexa will be working with major healthcare companies and big Pharma to develop apps that can manage patient data, check blood sugar, or find a doctor?  I wonder what else they will develop?

Do you have concerns about any of this further destroying your privacy?  I do.  Think before you speak your next word or give that next command.  Remember, Alexa is recording you, listening to you, learning about you, and could ultimately be used to control you.

Institutes face $1bn lawsuit for wartime experiment

Author:   Bryan Hubbard

January 29th 2019

Johns Hopkins University, the drug giant Bristol-Myers Squibb and the Rockefeller Foundation face a $1bn lawsuit for their part in a US government experiment that infected hundreds of Guatemalans with syphilis in the 1940s.

The experiment was set up to test the then new drug penicillin as a therapy for stopping the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases.

It remained a secret until 2010 when an academic discovered the papers. Since then the three institutions have been fighting legal action by claiming that the protection of foreign corporations from lawsuits in the US for alleged human rights abuses should be extended to them.

But in a recent ruling, a federal judge has decided that the same protection does not cover US corporations and has allowed the $1bn lawsuit to proceed. It has been filed by the 444 victims or their surviving relatives.

The complaint cites that several Hopkins and Rockefeller Foundation doctors were involved in the experiment along with four executives from Bristol Laboratories and Squibb Institute, which later amalgamated to become Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Johns Hopkins has apologized for its involvement in the experiment, but the Rockefeller Foundation—a non-profit group that gives grants for humanitarian causes around the world—denies any wrongdoing. The drug company has refused to comment.

Finally, these people/companies/foundations are being brought to justice.  Think you’re immune? Think again.  Do your homework.

Stay tuned for more on the injustices being bestowed upon the human race both in America and abroad.  Ethnicities have no boundaries. No one is immune. Criminals come in all races, shapes, colors and sizes.  Everyone needs to be held accountable.
