Master Cleanse Update Day 4

Posted in Detoxification on 31.10.11

Share
It is now day 4 and I’m writing to update you on my progress.  I woke this morning and mixed another glass of the salt water like I did on day two.  I drank it down.  It was much more tolerable this time.  Within about an hour, I was ready for the bathroom.  Not much came out although a little did.  It was nothing like yesterday.  I took a picture because I was shocked at what I saw during yesterday’s evacuation.  Yes, I pooped into a strainer.  That is the only way I can really examine what is coming out of me.  I want to be sure to described this sufficiently so anyone going into this knows what they could be in for.

I continue to take the detox caps on a daily basis.  I’m taking 3 in the morning and 3 at night although if I do the saltwater drink in the morning, I only take the detox caps at night.  The book says I should be having a couple of bowel movements a day although I don’t think there is anything left in me so I’m not sure what I should be seeing.  That is one of the reasons that I decided to use a strainer.  One of the main things I’m seeing is mucous and that is beneficial to the process as it tells me it is working.  Time will tell on how much I will continue to see and if in fact it stops which I’m thinking it should.  But then again we have between 30 and 40 feet of intestine running in our bodies so I’m really unsure.  I will keep you posted on that point.

The other thing I noticed was that you must be ready to drink when hungry.  I can’t go but maybe a half hour being hungry and even that is too long.  I just get too too hungry.  So the minute you start to feel hunger coming on, you need to consume a glass of lemonade.  If you don’t, you’ll be in trouble.

That happened to me yesterday.  I was two hours trying to run errands for things I was running out of for the cleanse.  I was doing that in the storms that we were having here in South Florida.  My 1/2 hour trip turned into two and had me smack dab in the middle of a mega supermarket buying Grade B Maple Syrup!  By the time I left the store, I was eating organic ham slices and hitting up McDonald’s for french fries.  I didn’t beat myself up.  I just resumed where I left off when I got home and learned a valuable lesson.  Never run out of anything for the master cleanse, ever!

Be prepared for certain, knowing that you will consume approximately a dozen or so lemons a day and a jar of maple syrup.  You could use less but at least with that planning in mind, you won’t run out and get into trouble.  Grade B maple syrup is not the easiest thing to find so that is another good reason to be prepared.  I just went and purchased four bottles and a big bag of lemons so I’m good for a few days.

This is worth repeating too – I want to put this warning out there to individuals that may be considering doing this cleanse.  Anyone that has had an implant or is taking immune-suppressant drugs CANNOT do the Master Cleanse!  This is because it stimulates the immune system and inhibits the effectiveness of the drugs.  That means that it could actually cause the immune system to attack the transplanted organ.  Don’t want that to happen, so I’m sorry for those of you in that situation.  This is not the cleanse for you!

On a final note for today, I’ve upped the amount of cayenne pepper I’m using and the sneezing is totally gone.  My tongue is still white but yesterday before I went and ate what I shouldn’t have, it was beginning to go back to pink!  Also, when I use less maple syrup then the cleanse calls for, I get foot cramps.  If I use the full two tablespoons as directed, I don’t.  I find the fascinating to say the least.

Tomorrow I will tell you about the lemonade mixture and report more as I go into day 5.  BTW, I’m down 3 pounds total!

Bottom’s up!  Enjoy your day.  Donna

My Master Cleanse Update Day 2

Posted in Detoxification on 28.10.11

Share

As my promise continues it is now day 2 and I’m writing to update you on my progress.  I woke this morning and mixed another glass of the salt water like I did yesterday and drank it down.  The difference this time, I’m empty.  There is nothing left to come out of me I guess.  I took 3 detox caps that I use for occasional bowel movement issues last night and 3 more this afternoon and nothing happened so far.  I think it is safe to say, I’m running on an empty bowel.  Thank goodness for that.  The reason I say that is, this is what it takes to really get in there and remove that mucos stuff that is coating the walls of my intestines.  And I’m happy to report that is happening too.  I can tell when I wipe!   It’s gooey!  I know I know sounds gross right but if I am going to share this with you, I have to be totally honest with what is happening.

I continue to follow instructions to the letter.  I am drinking about 12, eight ounce glasses of the lemonade mixture a day.  I usually mix up a double batch, drinking 16 ounces at a time.  Eight just doesn’t seem to cut it for me except for my first drink of the morning and my last drink before bed.  I am also usually a bit hungrier in the afternoon than I am in the morning and in the evening so I tend to drink the bulk of the juice during the afternoon hours.

I’m still not really hungry although when I feel hungry, I have the juice and the hunger subsides.  I’m also not craving the chewing thing any longer so that is a nice relief.

I bought a little juicer at the 2nd hand shop – it is a krupps and it was new.  Got it for $6!  That has made it so much easier.  If you are thinking about doing the cleanse, I highly recommend getting an automatic juicer.  They are simple machines.  The one I have is easy to clean and it cuts the prep time down to about 60 seconds.  Clean up is 1, 2, 3 also making the whole process a breeze.

I do want to put this warning out there to individuals that may be considering doing this cleanse.

I also wanted to let you know that when I started this, I would start sneezing after I drank the lemonade.  I was having a reaction to the cayenne pepper.  I was only putting a little cayenne in the drink but today I was able to use more and the sneezing seems to be stopping now.  In case you are wondering why cayenne pepper, it is because the cayenne, like the lemons, are good for stirring up toxicity.  Interesting to note too that they talk about having an allergic reaction and that it stems from the body’s simultaneous attempt to cleanse itself and digest food.  This process can create conflict and bring about some discomfort but I know from past detox protocols that this is normal.  I’ve been putting bad stuff in my body for a long time.  It’s being stirred up and evacuated from my body.  I’m willing to deal with a little discomfort now as I know when I’m done, my body will reward me with feeling great.  It is worth a few sneezes and a little body ache here and there.  What I am experiencing is well worth it.

I think what I find most amazing is that I don’t have foot cramp issues.  I have been plagued by them since I was very young.  Even my legs used to ache so bad that my parents rushed me to the hospital once in the middle of a snow storm.  I was crying and in so much pain that they got scared.  I remember that day like it was yesterday.  I think I was 4 or 5 years old.  I have since learned that it is caused by my body because it needs magnesium.  Amazing right.  Well let me tell you what is more amazing.  One of the reasons I’m doing this cleanse is because I was told that candida yeast coats the inside of your intestines with a slimy goo and that slim prevents nutrients from entering my body.  The nutrients I take were literally going in one end and out the other.  I found myself taking mega doses of magnesium and other nutrients in order to get relief.  I haven’t had any magnesium in three days.  In fact I’m not taking any supplements at all.  I haven’t experienced one cramp since I began drinking the lemonade.  That is a big wow.

Tomorrow I will tell you about the lemonade mixture and report more as I go into day 3.  BTW, I’m down 3 pounds!

Bottom’s Up and enjoy your day.  Donna

My Master Cleanse Update

Posted in Detoxification on 27.10.11

Share

I promised my followers that I would report daily on how my master cleanse was going.  I started yesterday and am now reporting after being on the cleanse for 24 plus hours.  I did the salt water drink to clear out my colon.  I put 2 teaspoons of salt into a quart of warm water and drank about 1/2 of it.  It is tough to get down but I have to tell you, it works like a charm.  I only use non-iodized sea salt as directed and had wonderful results.  It really did work in less than an hour.  Pretty amazing.

I followed instructions by drinking about 10, eight-ounce glasses of lemonade mixture.  Not really hungry but I am craving the chewing response!  That is the hardest part to get past.  Not sitting down to a meal is, of course, all in the head if you aren’t hungry and I’m happy to report I am not hungry.  When I feel hunger coming on, I drink the lemonade and then I’m fine.

This time around, I am making it fresh as I need it.   I am not premixing it as it will lose nutrients and I’m not going to take any supplements while doing this.  I want to see what happens to my energy and my foot cramps that pop up when I’m not getting enough magnesium.  I’ve been fighting that battle my entire life so this is big.

That’s it for today.  I’ll check in tomorrow.  PS:  I lost one pound!

Bottom’s Up and enjoy your day.  Donna

Coconut Oil: An Alternative to Body Lotions, Really? – Now You Know!

Posted in Alternative Healthcare, Uncategorized on 26.10.11

Share

IDKT (I didn’t know that) coconut oil had so many uses… beyond the obvious … and how beneficial it really is overall.  I have come to rely on coconut oil more and more and now, it is the mainstay ingredient that you will find in many rooms of my home.  Surprisingly for someone that hates coconut, I love the oil and even the cream.  It is not the same as eating coconut meat. Give it a try, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Here are just a few of the things I do with this natural beauty wonder.

  1. Before getting out of the shower, rub a little all over your body. Shower off excess the and lightly towel dry.
  2. Before shutting off the light to go to sleep, rub a little on your face and on the bottoms of your feet or other areas of your body that are prone to being dry.
  3. Take it to the beach and slather it all over your body and on your hair.  — No, I don’t use sunscreen ever. It is toxic to the body and does nothing to prevent skin cancer.
  4. Buy some coconut cream and make frozen candy treats that you can keep in your freezer.  I put an almond in the center and have a couple of these great treats with a cup of tea in the evening.  You’ll find the recipe on my website.
  5. Dry lips, dab on some coconut oil.
  6. Oil and vinegar dressing is made with coconut oil in our home. It is a nice change of pace.
  7. Popcorn is delicious when I use coconut oil to pop the corn.
  8. Saute veggies using coconut oil.

Make sure you buy good quality oil.  I only buy organic.  I’m saving so much money not having to purchase moisturizers, sunscreens and the like.  I want to make sure I am getting the best for my body in terms of quality.  I don’t want anything going into my body that isn’t processed correctly, has been sprayed with toxic chemicals, or is genetically modified.

Toxic Toys? Poisonous Playtime?

Posted in Health on 20.10.11

An article from Momsrising.org … I am disgusted at the thought of this going on … Please support this effort!

“Toxic rubber ducky or poisonous toy train anyone?

When we buckle our kids in their car seats or snuggle with them on the couch we shouldn’t have to think about neurotoxins and carcinogens. But a recent study found that we should.  The majority of of foam samples from baby products were found to be laced with toxic flame retardants shown to be neurotoxins and carcinogens.

We need Congress to effectively regulate toxic chemicals in this country and make it easier for us to keep toxics out of our homes and lives.”

Visit http://action.momsrising.org/letter/2011-6-2-TSCA/ to learn more and send a note to Congress. Please.

“These are crucial tests.  Lead is a poison. Even low levels of lead exposure can harm a child’s mental development. Phthalates, a chemical used to soften plastics, can impair reproduction and development, alter liver and kidney function, damage the heart and lungs, and affect blood clotting.”

Adrenal Stress: Too much Cortisol???

Posted in Disease, Hormones on 10.10.11

I Didn’t Know That! (IDKT)

cortisol…there were three phases to the demise of the adrenal glands.  Each phase marks a further decline in these precious glands, eventually leading to disease.  What I also didn’t realize is how little doctors know, in general, about what to do to help the adrenals and how this can make all the difference when it comes to combating illness and staying healthy.

Let me explain the three phases first and go from there.

Phase 1 a.k.a. Adrenal Stress.  High cortisol levels are common today and are present in nearly all men, women and children right from birth.  Adrenal stress comes into being as a result of too much stress placed

This info could save your life …

… or the life of a loved one.

IDKT (I didn’t know that) fluoroquinolone antibiotics were dangerous, in many instances, much more dangerous than the illnesses that they are being dispensed for.  I was snooping around on You Tube and was shocked at the number of videos there from people that have been permanently hurt.  Had to share this info.  It could save your life.

What’s a fluoroquinolone antibiotic anyway?  It’s aka Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, to name a few, and should only be used when faced with a life or death situation, after all other antibiotics have been exhausted.

Many doctors these days, rely on pharmaceutical drug reps for their information.  Dah, sounds like a conflict of interest to me especially when the pharmaceutical industry is governed by the FDA and the FDA obtains more than 50% of their budget from pharmaceutical companies.  Sounds like the fox guarding the hen house!

How can I make this statement you ask?  Well, I keep hearing and reading about

From Sick to Stoked – My Story

Posted in Weight Loss Testimonials on 03.10.11

Share

I suffered from the ravages of excess weight, yoyo dieting and ill health for many years. In 1991 I topped out at an all-time high of 207 pounds. I was always hungry. Food cravings were uncontrollable. In 1997 I suffered from neuropathy (a lack of feeling) and a scary diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. In 1998 I found a homeopathic physician to work with me. In two months I was symptom free and learned a valuable lesson about environmental toxins and the affects of food and stress on the human body.

In my early 50s, an annual physical showed I was experiencing menopausal symptoms, arthritic pain and excess body fat. I was headed for a diagnosis of diabetes. Research brought me to Caroline Sutherland, best-selling author health expert, where I learned about common food allergies. In less than a week I was pain free, reducing weight and experienced an overall level of well-being. Because of my age and imbalanced hormones, my weight loss had stalled. It was time to research bio identical hormone replacement therapy and hCG for weight loss.

I spent the next five years searching for a doctor that knew what they were doing when it came to
